I read a quote earlier today. “Consistency is contrary to nature, contrary to life. The only completely consistent people are dead.” I thought oh man, how true is that? No matter how hard I try, there are some things I’m really consistent at and others, not nearly. Think about yourself. What do you want to achieve in life? Do you have goals? Do you know how you are going to reach these goals? By being consistent. I mean, really consistent. Consistency isn’t just important when it comes to health and fitness. It’s important for every aspect of our lives: relationships, work, finances.
Let’s look at health and fitness. In order to lose weight, you have to implement a diet and exercise program. The only way you will see results is by being consistent following that program. Once the weight is lost, if you don’t have a game plan to be consistent with maintenance, you’re more than likely going to gain the weight back.
Not just exercise:
Think about your other areas of your life you really want to improve upon. Maybe it’s personal or business relationships, maybe it’s finance. Maybe it’s starting a new business. Whatever it is, document your goals, create a daily to do list and be consistent day after day. That’s a promise I have made to myself. I want to be consistent in keeping my blog posts updated every day. So, my game plan is to spend time every Saturday morning (I already have it scheduled) writing my blogs for the week. That way I know nothing will stand in my way of posting. That’s my promise to myself. How about you? Where do you want to become more consistent?
